Congestion and noise 03/29/2009
1. This will dramatically reduce the natural light entering the west side of the building. The outdoor hallways will always be dark. 2. Why would the city want to make this particular block so congested? 3. The unevitable construction noise is unjustifiable and the neighbors should in some way be compensated for this inconvenience if it is to take place. If not, I would ask to switch residences with the mayor of Palo Alto or other Palo Alto legislators during the time of the construction. 3/29/2009 21:34:54 S. S. High St. Building size and parking 03/28/2009
The building has to be kept to the original agreement, the codes, and the original height. Also, concerning parking, Emerson Street and Addison Avenue, in all directions from their intersection, are already totally full of parked cars every week-day. 3/28/2009 14:16:54 D. E. Addison Too large! 03/28/2009
I strongly support low income housing but not this large and one condition for housing 75 children 3/28/2009 23:48:46 E. D. High Street High density projects in Palo Alto! 03/28/2009
Stop building so many high density projects in Palo Alto! 3/28/2009 10:46:18 P.W. El Camino Real Does this make economic sense? 03/21/2009
- the building is too high and too big - will generate parking and traffic problems for everyone in the area - an additional concern it seems to me, given the limited availability of building space inside Palo Alto close to downtown, the choice of building a low income project in this location is ill-thought. What the city might be better off doing, would be to allow a high end or luxury complex, perhaps with some good quality commercial space on the ground floor. If budget money is a concern given the overall situation in California then why not maximize your odds of actually attracting money. The inventory of high end condo style housing in Palo Alto is quite low, most apartments complex are nowhere near where they should be as amenities, modernity, quality given the status Palo Alto supposedly has. - we would be curious to know how much money will the city of Palo Alto make or lose out of this project. The timing seems poorly chosen for a break-even or profitable endeavor. There has been enough losses already. Why not just postpone building a charitable project until conditions improve. 3/21/2009 15:57:29 O.C. 800 High Street No Seniors any more? 03/21/2009
Radical change in plans from what was discussed originally (50 units of senior housing on the substation property) Using the narrow alley as "street separation" is unacceptable. 5 story building is essentially being build right up against 1.5 Million dollar condo units. Building's units have seen a significant decrease in value because of this project. 3/21/2009 14:31:16 S.H. High Street Rampant growth 03/14/2009
Growth in Palo Alto downtown area is rampant in housing density (increasing) and building heights (getting higher) -- leading to more traffic congestion and air polluting. The proposed project is a perfect example of the rampant growth. I do not support this project going forward as planned -- it MUST be scaled back by 25-50%. Thank you 3/14/2009 9:24:18 A.C. Kellogg Ave Reduce 03/12/2009
Reducing the number of stories to 3 would be best in my perspective 3/12/2009 9:37:34 R.B. 800 High Canyon in Palo Alto 03/05/2009
Design of building would create two high-rises side by side with only 14 feet separating them. This would create a building canyon in Palo Alto, being unsightly and leering over Alma Street. 3/5/2009 8:20:01 A.C. 800 High |
