Parking is needed! 03/25/2009
We need much more parking for people who have worked here for years and also for our clients 3/25/2009 12:45:47 B.M. Channing Avenue Whu variance to our zoning? 03/25/2009
I support the goals of this project but I do not support a variance to our zoning standards that will cause adverse impacts on our community and on the project residents themselves. I know firsthand of the challenges of traffic and parking, and when kids and seniors have inadequate access to parks and play areas. I want to see our community continue to support our seniors and moderate income residents but let's not try to do too much in one project! Thank you for hearing and understanding our concerns as nearby residents. 3/25/2009 12:33:23 NS. High Street Residential Parking 03/21/2009
Residential parking impacted by downtown employers/employees 3/21/2009 18:59:11 G.W. Emerson Street Not Enough Parking 03/21/2009
Not enough parking as it is. 3/21/2009 19:02:53 C.S. Emerson Street Does this make economic sense? 03/21/2009
- the building is too high and too big - will generate parking and traffic problems for everyone in the area - an additional concern it seems to me, given the limited availability of building space inside Palo Alto close to downtown, the choice of building a low income project in this location is ill-thought. What the city might be better off doing, would be to allow a high end or luxury complex, perhaps with some good quality commercial space on the ground floor. If budget money is a concern given the overall situation in California then why not maximize your odds of actually attracting money. The inventory of high end condo style housing in Palo Alto is quite low, most apartments complex are nowhere near where they should be as amenities, modernity, quality given the status Palo Alto supposedly has. - we would be curious to know how much money will the city of Palo Alto make or lose out of this project. The timing seems poorly chosen for a break-even or profitable endeavor. There has been enough losses already. Why not just postpone building a charitable project until conditions improve. 3/21/2009 15:57:29 O.C. 800 High Street Parking 03/21/2009
Parking on my street is terrible! We have to 16 houses + 3 driveways. My car has sustained thousand of $ damage from Day Parkers.+ residents (elderly, burdened w/ groceries, etc) cannot find parking for blocks. 3/21/2009 18:57:24 M. WH Emerson Street This is NOT Manhattan 03/21/2009
The area between Homer and Channing is an area of narrow streets, no parking for residents who don't have a garage, is overrun by parking from people who work or go downtown to shop. This is NOT Manhattan, it is a small Northern California town. The gigantic monster on Homer has not yet had any rentals and heavens forbid should it be get some offices, this area will be a nightmare, not to mention putting up yet another monstrosity in this area. 3/20/2009 18:13:32 J.R. Homer Ave Two high-rises side by side 03/06/2009
Design of building would create two high-rises side by side with only 14 feet separating them. This would create a building canyon in Palo Alto, being unsightly and leering over Alma Street. 3/5/2009 8:20:01 A.C. 800 High |
