Does this make economic sense? 03/21/2009
- the building is too high and too big - will generate parking and traffic problems for everyone in the area - an additional concern it seems to me, given the limited availability of building space inside Palo Alto close to downtown, the choice of building a low income project in this location is ill-thought. What the city might be better off doing, would be to allow a high end or luxury complex, perhaps with some good quality commercial space on the ground floor. If budget money is a concern given the overall situation in California then why not maximize your odds of actually attracting money. The inventory of high end condo style housing in Palo Alto is quite low, most apartments complex are nowhere near where they should be as amenities, modernity, quality given the status Palo Alto supposedly has. - we would be curious to know how much money will the city of Palo Alto make or lose out of this project. The timing seems poorly chosen for a break-even or profitable endeavor. There has been enough losses already. Why not just postpone building a charitable project until conditions improve. 3/21/2009 15:57:29 O.C. 800 High Street CommentsLeave a Reply |
