I ask the City of Palo to substantially reduce the proposed size of the 801 Alma Street mixed use retail housing Project.

There is currently not enough room in our schools for more students. Who wins here? The developer or the citizens of Palo Alto?

Negative impact on already overcrowded schools.

Too big! 03/31/2009

The large size of this development does not appear in keeping with the character of the neighborhood, nor do our streets and parking appear able to sustain the increased traffic and parking.

As is there is hardly any parking, with more units can we still do business in down town

There is already so much high density development along the Channing street area in downtown Why isn't this activity distributed more evenly across the city? Why not build this off California Ave for instance?

There needs to be an infrastructure before building more buildings, and filling them up with more people. If the builder would like to accommodate the building with another school, another parking structure, another park... Addison Elementary school is literarly bursting at the seems. Has there ever been any thought to putting housing structures that are affordable in a less congested part of palo alto? It seems to me there are other areas that could be considered.

800 High Street is MASSIVE. We need to build housing that is more appropriate for the neighborhood. We shouldn't feel compelled to just pack people in like sardines in the name of more housing. Please don't make this neighborhood look like the urban projects.

Major concern is adding another 75 or more children to the already overcrowded Addison Elementary school where I may be struggling this year to get my own child in and my youngest in several years time.
